No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify, how the process functions, and what occurs if you don't fit the accelerated program's limits.
Many insurers now provide accelerated underwriting: for applicants in certain age and amount ranges, they reach a decision using your application, pharmacy records, vehicle history, and other information instead of sending an examiner. Answers often come back within a day. Each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, possibly needed, or not required for that particular offer.
What it changes
Accelerated underwriting is still underwriting—your answers get checked, and any policy issued based on false information can be challenged within two years. The carrier may ask for an exam or lab work if its data raises concerns, and you can decide at that point whether you want to continue.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under about 60 years old, looking for coverage amounts under each carrier's quick-decision threshold, with no major medical history and no tobacco use in the past year or longer. Some insurers will use recent blood work from a doctor visit instead of ordering their own exam.
When an exam is needed, you will typically meet with a paramedic at your residence or workplace in the West Sacramento region for roughly 20 to 30 minutes, at no cost to you. For individuals in good health, examination outcomes often help achieve a better rate class, making it not always an unfavorable step.
